Mixed Families Together began in 2023 with a small group of 15 families wanting to create a space where our families could meet regularly, support each other, see themselves reflected in others and share lived experiences. We set up a WhatsApp group and began running cultural meet ups in various locations across Devon.

Now in 2026 – our group has grown to 180 families comprising more than 700 people and we have a committee of 10 dedicated parents running regular joyful community meet ups throughout the year. We celebrate food, heritage, music, culture, arts, cooking, and everything that reflects the fabric of our families.

We support cultural facilitators, caterers, and global-majority owned business to help us run these events and we are always looking to connect with more families.

This grassroots organisation was born out of need – need for our families to feel seen and truly welcome.
